Meet Toby Smith
American Toby Smith has worked full-time as a journalist on three different continents. When he arrived in Romania in 1998 as a Fulbright Scholar, Toby thought he knew everything. For instance, he was absolutely certain that Romania acquired its name because it was the world's leading producer of romaine lettuce. Incidentally, in the two years Toby lived in Romania, he never ate a vegetable nor saw one.
Toby's writing on a variety of contemporary subjects appears in a broad range of newspapers, magazines and books. Even so, he is convinced that no one in the United States reads because they're too busy watching Donald Trump's "The Apprentice," a reality TV program Toby swears he has never seen. Well, almost never seen.
